The Smart and Connected Social Places (SCSP) Innovation Fund is launching soon and will provide grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 to support 5G and advanced wireless technology projects across Glasgow City Region.
This fund is specifically designed for SMEs, charities, social enterprises, CICs, and housing associations – aiming to create innovative solutions that drive digital transformation, provide a space for projects that address key challenges in local communities, particularly in housing and connected care and wellbeing. Projects can also relate to business intelligence and data that underpins these areas.
Key dates:
· Applications Open: 2 September 2024
· Project Start Date: As soon as possible
· Application Deadline: 16 September 2024
· Project Completion Deadline: 31st March 2025

The Fund is part of the UK Government 5G Innovation Regions programme which aims to drive innovative applications powered by 5G from proof of concept to widespread adoption. Innovation regions will demonstrate and adopt 5G and other advanced wireless use cases across key sectors of the economy. Each Innovation Region will demonstrate the scalability, replicability, and sustainability of use cases, and disseminate project learnings and benefits.
