City Deal Opportunities

The £1.13 billion City Deal programme involves the procurement of a whole host of goods and services

At tier one level this will include roads, bridges and improved transport infrastructure, quay walls, remediation, construction, public realm works, design and architectural consulting services, legal services, professional services – assisting further capital housing, retail and commercial developments.

Projects will be delivered over a twenty year period, although it is anticipated that the majority of procurement and construction activity will be completed within the first ten years. Beyond that, further procurement will be delivered through new land sites realised through the programme.

City Deal contract opportunities, where appropriate, will be advertised and awarded through Public Contracts Scotland. Register on the PCS website and select the City Deal category to receive automatic updates.

Support for Regional businesses to bid for and win contracts

Scottish SMEs and Third Sector organsations interested in bidding for and winning public sector contracts can access free training and extensive support from the Supplier Development Programme.

The Supplier Development Programme also runs a series of helpful workshops and events.

Our approach to Procurement and Community Benefits and Supplier Guidance

The Glasgow City Region Sustainable Procurement and Community Benefits strategy, is a collaborative approach to procurement by the eight member authorities. It confirms the partners’ commitment to working together to explore and develop best practice to allow us to procure the best and maximise opportunities from contracts – leading to better value and better opportunities for local business and residents and ultimately to assist in driving greater Regional economic growth.

Sustainable Procurement Suppliers’ Guide has been developed to reflect the Glasgow City Region Procurement and Community Benefit Strategy.  This is intended as a single point of reference for suppliers to use in adopting and following a consistent, standard approach to City Deal contracts and in delivering City Deal community benefit outcomes for all eight Glasgow City Region member authorities.

The guidance aims to support tenderers to offer and deliver community benefits and sustainable outcomes across City Deal contracts from the Community Benefit Menu available within Appendix A of the document.
