David Baruffati

David joined Glasgow City Region’s (GCR) Intelligence Hub in 2024 as an Embedded Researcher for the Policy Modelling for Health (HealthMod) research consortium. This UKRI-funded project aims to support policy decisions which intervene on the economic determinants of ill health and health inequalities.

Central to his role is in ensuring that HealthMod’s activities and outputs align with GCR’s policy priorities, and that the insights and outputs from the project are embedded in day-to-day policy support activities at GCR beyond the life of the project.

Prior to joining the Intelligence Hub, David completed a PhD in Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow exploring health inequalities across the city and has worked in related research and teaching roles at the University of Glasgow, Scottish Government and NHS Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
