The Land Use and Sustainability Portfolio is led by East Dunbartonshire Council, with representatives from our eight councils and including Clydeplan, the GCV Green Network Partnership and Climate Ready Clyde.
The group works together with a range of partners to ensure joined-up thinking on land use and sustainability and to support the delivery of ambitious and extensive investment in our physical and natural environment to ensure we have an attractive and vibrant world-class Region.
The policy and delivery connections between land use planning, transport, investment and economic growth are often considered separately. However, the climate emergency and inclusive growth agendas increasingly require us to consider these issues alongside one another.
Since its inception the Land Use and Sustainability Portfolio has continued to strengthen our considerable voice on land use contributing to national, Regional and local sustainability issues and policy.
Priorities for 2021 include:
- Launching the Clyde Climate Forest
- Preparing and delivering a Regional Vacant and Derelict Land Action Plan
- Finalising the Glasgow City Region Climate Adaptation Strategy
